Abstract:

Feeder #36 faulted in electrical vault (manhole) PMH-131 on January 30, 2013, as personnel planned to enter the vault for work to remove cables for an oil switch replacement as part of the Master Substation Bypass GPP. The feeder fault resulted in a loud noise, smoke and a call to the Fire Department by the FESS Construction Coordinator. There were no personnel injuries and no entry to the vault had been made, but a review was warranted before proceeding with any additional work in electrical vaults.
