Employees who will be the contact point for a service subcontractor. Service subcontractors provide services that do not meet the definition of construction. Service coordinators are called to implement the processes and procedures stated in FESHM 7020/ Subcontractor Safety- Other than construction. As such they must implement ISM protocols and have knowledge of requisitioning work and/or direct work utilizing all the safety tools at hand to mitigate or reduce hazards. Subcontracted activities , in many instances, are routine, low hazard activities that do not need much in the way of analyzing hazards; i.e, copier repair, consulting services, repair activities and office work to name a few. These subcontracted activities still have the potential for exposure to hazards that require additional planning. The Service Coordinator is called upon to inform, plan, coordinate and guide the subcontractor through the myriad of requirements under our safety management system and to assist the service provider.
